From the moderately priced pretty good lower bowl seats
Welcome to Section 104, a site for Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball sickos BY Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball sickos. We are a group of (foolishly, hopelessly, recklessly) devoted Georgetown fans, many of who have been and/or still are season ticket holders in Section 104 of the Verizon C--err Capital One Arena. We've been fans for 15+ years, some of us coming to the squad via being Georgetown graduates (anywhere from 2004 through 2011), some coming via marriage, and some coming because we had nothing better to do.
We've seen some real highs: storming the court against Duke (ok, this one is cheating because it was before Section 104), beating Louisville to with the Big East regular season, Roy Hibbert's three against UConn, 61-39, beating DePaul to end the streak (sob). We've seen some real lows: pretty much everything in the last 5+ years among others.
We've done our fair share of shouting. If you've been to a Hoyas game at Cap One in the past 5 years, you've almost certainly heard us at some point. Like the "Do something, literally anything" game from JTIII's last season or the "he's already in the game coach" from Ewing's first or "hey Cheeseman, you stink!" or "it's called a pick and ROLL, you have to ROLL" or a more recent favorite among our group "it's over Ron!" among many others. (We also do plenty of shouting at each other in various watering holes and in group chats.)
Through it all, we're still here, still hopelessly pining for the past while dreaming of finally getting back to winning basketball (we are currently divided on the actual prospect of that possibility). We look forward to furnishing the world with our takes as Georgetown attempts to scale the mountain and make it back to the land of even remotely competitive basketball over the next few years. Yes, this is all one big inside joke, but follow along and we'll bring you into it along the way. Stay tuned.
